Calendar of Events

The Appalachian Experience:
What place could you feel closer to God? In the North Carolina mountains you will be surrounded by natural beauty to inspire and admire. The Appalachians are the perfect surrounding to help you on your journey to self awareness, creativity and spirituality... whatever it is you seek.

Lake Logan Episcopal Center:

God's transformation happens here. Lake Logan lies in a pristine valley near the Blue Ridge Parkway, where visitors soak up the serenity of God’s glorious gifts in a 300-acre sanctuary. Lake Logan Episcopal Center lends itself well to spiritual retreats, business conferences, seminars, and family reunions. Groups are welcome to this special place, where the power of nature’s bounty nourishes, restores, and rejuvenates.

The Retreat Weekend
Check in time begins at 4:00pm Friday. Buffet dinner begins at 6:30. We begin our time together with a Friday evening gathering, after dinner; a time to greet familiar faces and meet new seekers of creativity and growth.  It is also a time to breathe deeply after a demanding week and prepare yourself spiritually for this gift you have given yourself.

Our Saturday workshops focus on ways to nurture you spiritually and energize the Creative Self. There will be the option of attending three workshops:

WORKSHOP 1:    9:30am - 11:30am (CHOOSE ONE: Yoga, or Signs & Wonders)

WORKSHOP 2:    1:30pm - 3:30pm (CHOOSE ONE: Memento Beads, or Wordcatching)

WORKSHOP 3:    4:00pm - 6:00pm (CHOOSE ONE: Gifts of Poetry, or Imagination Arts)

Sunday morning you have the option to enjoy a special Yoga workshop by Elizabeth Miller from 9:00 - 10:30am (no extra charge).

Sunday morning at 10:45am we give closure to the retreat by gathering together in reflection of what we have experienced -- whether you choose to share or simply listen and enjoy others’ stories, it should leave you feeling fulfilled and refreshed. Our retreat ends by noon, Sunday. Boxed lunches are available on Sunday in case you want to take it on one last hike across the grounds or for your trip home.
